Jackie Lee (Jack) Williams, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in Roland, Oklahoma, on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the age of 75. He was born during the oil boom in Thermopolis, Wyoming, on June 6th, 1948, to Jack Turner and Virginia Elizabeth Williams. Jack graduated from Roland High School where he excelled in athletics. In 1966, he crowned Kathy Speir as the first Roland High School Football Queen. They married on December 18, 1967, and she remained his queen for 54 years. Jack was a strong Christian with a servant’s heart who shared generously with his family and friends throughout his life. He served many years as a deacon at Muldrow First Baptist Church. Jack was known as Papa and he loved to watch his grandsons play ball. To know him was to love him. He was always there to lend a helping hand, had an infectious smile, and was known to get extremely loud at ballgames. Jack was dedicated to his profession and founded Sequoyah Electrical Supply Company. He was an entrepreneur inventing a dual-source power pole that was bought by Sam Walton and used in all Wal-Mart stores.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Kathy of the home; children, Lori Wiggins and husband Darrell of Roland, Chad Williams and wife Tonya of Roland; grandsons, Skyler Williams and Alex Pierce of Tampa, Florida, Mason Wiggins and wife McKenzie, Jaidon Williams, Jaxon Wiggins and Carson Wiggins all of Roland; great-grandson, Koen Wayne Wiggins; sister, Fran Whisitt of Roland; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Williams of Salado, Texas, Zenda Dodson and husband Stan of Greenwood, Arkansas, Teresa Speir of Muskogee; brothers-in-law, Richard Elkins of Lafayette, Louisiana, Pat Meyers of Fort Smith, Bob Speir and wife Jackie of Waveland Park, Arkansas; caring niece and nephew, Casie Kemp of Roland and Marc Williams of Killeen, Texas. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Virginia Williams; in-laws, Sonny and Patty Lee Speir of Roland; his sisters, Mary Jane Elkins of Lafayette, Louisiana and Rosemary Meyers of Fort Smith; brothers, Clayton Williams and wife Christine of Roland, and Ret. Col, W.G. Williams of Salado, Texas; brothers-in-law, Jim Speir of Wagoner and Rick Rutherford of Roland; and a host of family and friends. Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jody Fincher, Ryan Meyers, Camryn Hull, Scott Speir, Eric Speir and Corey Fincher. Honorary pallbearers will be Marc Williams, Paul Williams, Lou Young, Dennis Ray Young, Gary Williams, Michael Webb, Kevin Flurry, Mark Falleur and Monte Thompson.
We will celebrate his life and the joy brought to those around him. Viewing will be 6 – 8 PM on Monday, June 26, 2023 at First Baptist Church, 605 E. Shawntel Smith Blvd., in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Roland City Cemetery in Roland, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
