James Holmes

Graveside Service for James Holmes, 76 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on April 29, 1948 in Princeton, Kentucky to Vina (Camplin) Holmes and Charles Leonard Holmes and passed away on July 24, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Mr. Holmes was a long haul truck driver and a U.S. Army Veteran.

Survivors are spouse, Ruth Ann McCleod of the home; two sons, John Holmes of Sallisaw, OK and Scott Holmes of Sallisaw, OK; one daughter, Shawnna Sallee and Joel of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Madison, Anabelle, Abbey, Marshall, Mariah, Kody and Kaitlynn; four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Hudson, Willa James and Emery; and several nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tommy McCleod; one sister, Iretta and two brothers, Charles Bud Holmes and George Holmes.

Viewing will be 1 - 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6 - 8 PM.
