Funeral service for James Thomas Pruitt, 82, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Watts Holiness Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma with Bro. Terry Guthrie and Bro. Keith Tathum officiating. Burial will follow at Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on November 22, 1940 in Vian, Oklahoma to Carrie Isabella (Stubbs) Pruitt and William Harrison Pruitt and passed away on January 17, 2023 in Vian, Oklahoma. He was married to Margaret Faye (Stites) Pruitt on November 25, 1965 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2022. Mr. Pruitt was a retired supervisor from Whirlpool and retired from the maintenance department at Carl Albert State College. He was a member of Watts Holiness Church.

Survivors are one daughter, Paige Pruitt of Broken Arrow, OK; two sons, Sean Pruitt of Sallisaw, OK and Aaron Pruitt and wife, Belinda, of Weyers Cave, VA; 10 grandchildren, Johnathon Mattingly, Brittni Moore and Jared, Brittany Mattingly, Hazer Pruitt, Jessica Mattingly, Piper Pruitt, Carrie Pruitt, Hannah Pruitt, Sierra Douillard and Dalea Dawn Skelton; one great-grandchild, Brailynn Moore; one sister-in-law, Artie Pruitt of Gans, OK; and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one brother, Jerry Pruitt; and two sisters, Dorothy Rowe and Virgie Wiles.

Active Pallbearers will be Hazer Pruitt, Johnathon Mattingly, Chad Allen, Steve Gruber, Zacary Gruber, Sid Gruber, Craig Edgemon, Roger Edgemon and David Rogers.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
