He was born on August 12, 1938 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Stella Anna (Blair) McCawley and Isthmel McCawley and passed away on June 28, 2021 in Spiro, Oklahoma. He was married to Sue (Dickens) McCawley on September 14, 1961 in Fort Smith, Arkanasas. He was a mechanic and of the Christian faith.

Survivors are:

wife: Sue McCawley of the home;

1 son: John and Joye McCawley of Spiro, OK;

9 grandchildren: Marcus, Sharee, David, Wade, Alex, Cheron, Cora, Connor and James;

5 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way: Kayli, Madison, Sophia, Aiden, Jackson and Tishin on the way;

numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Elizabeth, Nell, Helen and OllieJean; and two brothers, Henry and Kenneth.
