Funeral Service for Janelle (Riggs) Matthews, 64, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on January 5, 1959 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Elizabeth (Hoppis) Riggs and Willie Harmon Riggs and passed away on August 15, 2023 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Walter Dale Matthews on June 11, 1981 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1989. She was the owner and operator of Matthews Daylight Donuts and of the Christian faith.

Survivors are special son, Brent Riggs and Cheresse of Sallisaw, OK; two brothers, Don Riggs and Cheryl of Sallisaw, OK and Bobby Riggs and Ronda of Sallisaw, OK; nephews, Michael Riggs and Cherese of Sallisaw, OK, John Mathis and fiancé, Leslie, of Greenwood, AR, James Riggs and Allison of Sallisaw, OK, Nolan Riggs and fiancé, Bailey, of Sallisaw, OK and Chase Riggs of Sallisaw, OK; nieces, Jodi Valdivia of Sallisaw, OK, Gina Risley and Dean of Vian, OK, Jennifer Birdtail and Leon of Sallisaw, OK and Sarah Riggs of Sallisaw, OK; four-legged companion, Remi; and numerous other great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, Leon, Randy and Larry Riggs; and two sisters, Beverly Jo Jones and Jerri Mathis.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 6 PM Saturday and 2 – 8 PM Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 3 – 5 PM Sunday.
