Janice Ruth Nolan

Janice Ruth Nolan, 76, of Roland, Oklahoma, passed away on January 4, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on October 2, 1948, in Fort Smith to Lola Faye (Wear) Woods and J.K. Woods. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, J.K. and Lola Faye Woods; two brothers, Larry “Lum” Woods and Rocky Woods, Sr.; her son-in-law, Gene Nall; her niece, Laurinda “Duck” Woods; her nephew, Stoney Woods; and her great-grandson, Remington Scott Nolan.

Janice was known for her love of crocheting, working on word searches, and offering sage advice to those around her. She was a frugal woman who could “pinch pennies to make a dime.” Above all, Janice was a devout member of the Cottonwood Freewill Baptist Church, where she found joy in serving Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her sons: Ryan Nolan and wife DaWaina of the home; Scott Nolan of Muldrow, Oklahoma; Chad Nolan and Mysha of Muldrow, Oklahoma; and her daughter, Amy Nall of South Milford, Indiana. Her grandchildren include Ashleigh Nolan of Bristow, Oklahoma; Rahni Skelton of Afton, Oklahoma; Tylurr Nolan of Van Buren, Arkansas; Jacob Nall of South Milford, Indiana; Canaan Nall of Arkoma, Oklahoma; Chelsea Fernandez Nolan of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; and Paige Nolan and Austin Nolan, both of the home. She is also survived by six great-grandsons, seven great-granddaughters, one sister, Micki Holloway of Fort Smith, Arkansas, as well as one niece, three nephews, and a host of other relatives and loved ones.

A funeral service to honor Janice’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Cottonwood Freewill Baptist Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Cottonwood Cemetery in Muldrow. Viewing and Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 2024 from 10am - 8pm with the family greeting friends from 6pm - 8pm in the Chapel at Agent-Mallory-Martin funeral home in Muldrow, Oklahoma.

Active pallbearers will be Janice’s sons and grandsons.
