Jay Cannon “J.C.” Newton was born on May 10, 1931 in Bakersfield, California to Rosie Bell (Real) Newton and James C. Newton and passed away on December 26, 2018 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He married Barbara Ann Newton on March 4, 1984 in King City, California. Mr. Newton was an U.S. Army Veteran, a Ranch foreman and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors are:
wife: Barbara Ann Newton of the home
children: Roxanne Christensen of Tacoma, WA, April Guerrero of Claremore, OK, Jamie Newton of Salinas, CA, Cecilia Ortega of Buffalo, NY, Michelle Taylor of Sallisaw, OK, Jennifer Duke of Clover, SC and Jeff Allen of Greenville, SC
numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren
2 sisters: Irene Combs of Sallisaw, OK and Jettie Smith of Sallisaw, OK
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sheila Newton; and 1 brother, Ben Newton.
