Services for Jerry Don Sumpter, 78 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on December 11, 1939 in Marble City, Oklahoma to Anna Jane (Woodward) Sumpter and Elzy Gus Sumpter and passed away on September 13, 2018 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was a heavy equipment operator and an U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors are:

2 daughters: Lisa Dawn Langdell and husband, Billy of Sallisaw, OK and Barbara Dawn Sumpter of Sallisaw, OK

2 sons: Donald Lee Sumpter and wife, Carrie of North Dakota and Bobby Don Sumpter and wife, Robin of Sallisaw, OK

grandchildren: Melissa and Aaron McGowan, Darla, Donnie, Timmie, Carlee, Emeny, Merissa, Miranda, Serenity, Matthew, Jax, Tripp and Jesse

great grandchildren: Zyler, Audisea, Laiklyn, Hunter, Erin, Kennedy, Brooklyn, Kaliegh, Trevor and Izzy

2 brothers: Frank Sumpter and wife, Louise of Sallisaw, OK and Larry Wayne Sumpter and wife, Judy of Ft. Smith, AR

second wife: Barbara Duvaul Sumpter

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Lora Lea Matthews Sumpter, parents: Gus and Jane Sumpter, 1 son: Jerry Wayne Sumpter, son in law: Jackie Wayne Rogers and 2 brothers: Elzy Dean and Bobby Glenn Sumpter

Active pallbearers will be Dodie Sumpter, Michael Sumpter, Aaron McGowan, William Langdell, Lloyd Sumpter and Joseph Vance.

Viewing will be 4 – 8 pm Friday, 10 am – 8 pm Saturday and 2 – 8 pm Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
