Charles was united in marriage to Nancy (Patton) Lutz, who preceded him in death on December 31, 2016. He cherished the time spent with his family and found joy in fishing—both freshwater and saltwater—as well as participating in raft races in Tulsa and Fort Smith.

Charles is survived by his three daughters: Dana Lutz of Sallisaw, Sharon Rogers and her husband Michael of Sallisaw, and Shanna Lutz McMellon and her husband Jon of Van Buren, Arkansas. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and many friends who will remember him fondly.

In addition to his wife, Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Ashley Sutton, his sister Mary, and his brother Carroll.
