Memorial Service for Jimmy Lynn Collins, 73, will be at Noon on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Box Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Jimmy Lynn Collins was born July 16, 1949, the son of Jim (Dutch) Collins and Alice Collins. He departed this life and entered heaven on October 12, 2022, at the age of 73, after a brief battle with cancer.

A life-long Oklahoman, Jimmy graduated from Vian High School. Much of Jimmy’s life focused on serving others, especially the young. He was employed by Job Corps in Tulsa for 10 years, where he helped troubled teens. He also worked for the Tulsa Public School District for 10 years, as well as at Tulsa Performing Arts. A member of Abundant Rain Church, he assisted with revivals in various cities, his focus was on children’s programs. Jimmy lived an active life and had many interests. An avid reader, he relished a good novel. From his father, Jimmy inherited a passion for the buy/sell/trade business. Garage sales were his hobby, and little excited him more than coming across a great find.

A pleasure to be around, Jimmy always had a way of making people smile. He was much loved. While we know he is now in a better place, he will be greatly missed.

More than anything, Jimmy loved his family. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Peoples; sister, Sue Behnke; two granddaughters, Kara Hasten and Marissa Wright; one grandson, Dakota Moore; niece, Nicole McGuire; three nephews, Lance Vandegrift, Dwayne Smith and Jeff Smith; five great-grandchildren; ex-wife, Camille Collins; and his step-children, Brian Williamson and Chrystal Boyd.
