Joann (Mitchell) Honeycutt

Services for JoAnn “Jody” Honeycutt, 84 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 am on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
She was born on February 4, 1935 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Vera Virgie (Walters) Mitchell and George Mitchell and passed away on March 18, 2019 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to V.A. “Bill” Honeycutt on May 20, 1953 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2006. Mrs. Honeycutt was a retired 1st and 2nd grade school teacher and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Sallisaw, OK.

Survivors are:

1 daughter: Kerry Bauer and husband, Brady of Sallisaw, OK;

1 son: John Honeycutt and wife, Jennifer of Sallisaw, OK;

4 grandchildren: Bradley Bauer and wife, Trish of Frisco, TX, Matt Bauer and wife, Jaime of Sallisaw, OK, Danielle Honeycutt of Fort Worth, TX and James Honeycutt of Tokyo, Japan;

6 great grandchildren: Garrett, Kaitlyn, Sailor, Ireland, Arianna and Emmsley;

1 sister-in-law: Barbara Mitchell of Ft. Collins, CO;

several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 3 sisters: Eva Matlock, Imogene Komorowski and Noma Edwards; and 3 brothers: Elmo, Elwood and Carl “Jack” Mitchell.

Active pallbearers will be Brady Bauer, Brad Bauer, Matt Bauer and Garrett Bauer.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Honeycutt, Danielle Honeycutt, Jennifer Honeycutt, Jeff Edwards, Gary Baskin and Stephen Fedde.

Viewing will be noon – 8 pm Friday, 10 am – 8 pm Saturday and 2 pm – 8 pm Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 4 – 6 pm Sunday.
