Services for Joe Pete Pena, 84, of Liberty community, Oklahoma will be at 11:30 am on Monday, August 20, 2018 Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Ft. Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born April 27, 1934 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Joe and Clara Bustos Pena. He passed this life on August 15, 2018 in Liberty community, Oklahoma. He was married to Rose Ann Pena on August 3, 1955 in Bokoshe, Oklahoma. Joe was a retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class. He worked for Frisco Railroad, roads and grounds for Fort Chaffee, and he owned his own janitorial business. He was an avid golfer and a Catholic.

2 sons and daughters in law: Joe Casey and Tammy Pena of Liberty, OK and John Pete and Angie Pena of Liberty, OK

2 daughters and sons in law: Debra and Eric Simpson of Van Buren, AR and Deidri and Brad Allen of Blackgum, OK

10 grandchildren: Raymond, J.C., Shawna, Erica, Nichole, Jennifer, Natalie, William, Wyatt, and Adrianna

12 great grandchildren: Braden, Jayden, Layne, Kayden, Mateo, Carson, Abbigaill, Ethan, Malachi, Mattox, Clara, and Isaac

1 brother: Ralph “Fred” Pena of Tucson, AZ

1 sister: Irene Kesler of Hilbert, WI

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Clara Pena; 2 brothers, Eddie and Henry Pena; and 1 sister, Carolina Pena

Active Pallbearers are Raymond Pena, J.C. Pena, William Allen, Wyatt Allen, Mateo Pena, and Carson Wiley

Honorary Pallbearers are Braden Pena, Layne Pena, Jayden Pena and Malachi Lasiter.

Viewing will be Saturday from 10 am – 8 pm and Sunday from 2 – 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends Sunday from 2 – 4 pm at the funeral home.
