Joel Ryan Cawhorn

Joel Ryan Cawhorn, 42, of Gore, Oklahoma passed this life on May 2, 2018. Joel was born on January 18, 1976 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Harold Brooks Cawhorn, Sr. and Jeannie Cawhorn. He was the youngest of five children. He attended Gore Public Schools where he played baseball and football. He was known as a “homerun” hitter. He graduated Gore High School in 1994. Joel was an avid sports fan and also enjoyed fishing. He was a life- long member of Gore United Methodist Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Hannah Cawhorn and mother Jeannie Cawhorn both of Gore; brother and sister-in-law, Brooks and Beverly Cawhorn of Sallisaw, sister and brother-in-law Janee’ and Pee Wee Cope of Gore, sister and brother-in-law Julie and Mike Henning of Muskogee, brother Jeff Cawhorn, 6 nieces; Jennifer Sainer, Elisa Terrell, Meaghan Cawhorn, Caitlin Cawhorn, Taylor Tanner, and Tristen Cawhorn, 2 nephews; Eric Cope and Caleb Cawhorn, 3 great nieces; Avery Sainer, Cobie Cawhorn, and Hadley Gann, 6 great nephews; Brylee Hyler, Aidan Sainer, Blaize Cope, Aiden Cawhorn, Daxton Cope, and Hudson Gann, special friend, Jenifer Barnes, and a host of other relatives, friends, and his two faithful companions, Boomer and Rosie. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Brooks Cawhorn, Sr., paternal grandparents B.J. and Nelle Cawhorn, and maternal grandparents Gordon and Rubye Riley.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Gore United Methodist Church in Gore, Oklahoma.
