Funeral Service for John “Punchy” Cheater Jr., 51 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Flute Springs Cemetery in Marble City, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on June 8, 1972 in Sacaton, Arizona to Linda (Morris) Cheater and John Cheater Sr. and passed away on July 30, 2023 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was a general laborer.

Survivors are fiancé, Cecelia of the home; one daughter, Alyssa Brionne Cheater of Rocky Mountain, OK; three sons, Caleb John Cheater of Sallisaw, OK, Kordell Ryan Cheater of Flute Springs, OK, and Jakob Christian Cheater of Flute Springs, OK; one grandchild, Nevaeh Lee Cheater; mother, Linda Morris Cheater; two sisters, Melanie Kay Cheater of AZ; and Krystal René Blackbird of Fort Smith, AR; two brothers, Joe Bob Cheater of KS, and Jeremy Lance Cheater of Fort Smith, AR; numerous aunts and uncles; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Martin and Maxine Morris, Joe Morris, Lizzy Murphy, Watt Cheater, and nephew, Noah Benjamin Cheater.

Active Pallbearers will be David Haddox, Michael Haddox, Billy Ward, Brandon Ward and Joseph Crowley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Lance Cheater, Kordell Ryan Cheater, Jakob Christian Cheater, Caleb John Cheater, Donald Blackbird and Dakota Duncan.

Viewing will be 10 am – 8 pm Monday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
