Funeral Service for John "Johnny" Glenn Taylor, 71, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Lee's Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on April 16, 1953 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Inez Lavera (Harvell) Taylor and Joel Ryman Taylor and passed away on April 22, 2024 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. He was married to Joan (Hallum) Taylor on December 4, 1981 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Roland High School. He was a salesman for Farmers Cooperative and a member of Lee’s Chapel Assembly of God. Johnny spent most of his working years at the Fort Smith and Van Buren Farmers Co-ops. He loved spending time outside in the yard, working in the garden, and fishing. He was involved in his church, Lee’s Chapel Assembly of God, where he played music and sang. He could fix and build just about anything. He was a proud Sooner, Dallas Cowboys, and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and a proud Papa to his three grandsons. While Alzheimer’s may have taken his memory and his speech, it could not take his faith.
Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Joan, of the home; daughter, Jordan Taylor of Muldrow, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Jarrod Taylor and Hillary of Muldrow, OK; grandsons, Ethan, Wyatt, and Grady of Muldrow, OK; two sisters, Billye Ruth Mathis of Roland, OK and Linda Stiles and Steven of Fort Smith, AR; two brothers, Jerry Johnson and Brenda of Muldrow, OK and Joe Taylor of Muldrow, OK; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Kay Corbell; niece, Jamie Lynn Stiles; and special sister-in-law, Deborah Hallum.
Active Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Viewing will be 2 - 8 PM Wednesday and 10 AM - 1 PM Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, OK and 2 - 8 PM Thursday at Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church in Muldrow, OK. The family will greet 6 - 8 PM Thursday at Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church in Muldrow, OK.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to The Wounded Warrior Project, in honor of Johnny’s two brothers who were Veterans.
