Graveside service for Johnny Dale “Joey” Dick, 69 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Bellefonte Cemetery in Nicut community, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on October 2, 1953 in Nicut community, Oklahoma to Odie Mae (Eagle) Dick and Eli Dick and passed away on December 2, 2022 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Loretta Carol (Johnson) Dick on July 21, 1973 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on May 24, 2015. Mr. Dick was a 1971 graduate of Muldrow High School where he excelled as a running back. He loved being in the woods and driving country roads. He was a fluent speaker of Cherokee and loved visiting with people.

Survivors are one daughter, Shannon Elizabeth Dick, of the home; one son, Jonathan Eli Dick, of the home; three sisters, Shirley Reed of Nicut, OK, Julie Moss and Patrick of Tahlequah, OK and Susan Kennedy of Ft. Smith, AR; one brother, Michael Lee Dick of Nicut, OK; five grandchildren, Jordan Elizabeth McGowan, Jacob Calhoun Dick, Tristan Joseph Pettit, Chloe Elizabeth Gatzman and Amiyah Elizabeth Mosby; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and brother, William Eli Dick.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Lynch, Jimmy Tabor and David “Stub” Coleman.

Viewing will be 10 am – 8 pm Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6 – 8 pm.
