Cremation Service for Joseph Edward Holt, 84, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma is under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on September 2, 1939 in Foreman, Arkansas to Lucille (Holt) Brown and Benjamin Harrison Chesshire and passed away on September 11, 2023 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Iza (Burnett) Holt on February 2, 1980 in Bossier City, Louisiana. He was a graphic designer at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Survivors are wife, Iza of the home; three daughters, Patricia and Kenneth Smith of Sallisaw, OK, Cynthia Rankins of Mulberry, AR and Donna Moore of Frierson, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Jenny Harsel of Atlanta, TX; and several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his step-children, Jack and Jerry Upton; parents; four brothers, William Howard McDowell, Arthur Franklin McDowell, James Leon Brown, Jr. and Henry Earl McDowell; and one sister, Maylo Hamen.
