Funeral Service for Joseph I. Hunt, 82, of Gore, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Gore, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Stevenson Cemetery in Gore, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on April 1, 1939 in Gilbert, Arizona to Elza Ann (Stevenson) Hunt and Joseph Silas Hunt and passed away on August 5, 2021 in Gore, Oklahoma. He was married to Frances (Hancock) Hunt on August 12, 1956 in Salom, Arizona. He was a building contractor, cattle rancher and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors are:

wife: Frances of the home;

3 daughters: Daneen and Kevin Mann of Ft. Smith, AR, Joenna and Jim Nolen of Wetumka, OK, and Tamera and Dan Bardin of Barling, AR;

4 sons: Judd and Devoni Hunt of Vian, OK, Duane and Barbara Hunt of Gore, OK, Joe, Jr. and Julee Hunt of Mesa, AZ and Loren Hunt of Nevada, MO;

25 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren;

2 sisters: Erma Capps of Gore, OK and Phyllis Stevenson of Muskogee, OK;

5 brothers: Walter Hunt of Braggs, OK, Benny Hunt of Wagoner, OK, Jerry Hunt of Braggs, OK, Danny Hunt of Gore, OK and Glenn Hunt of Muskogee, OK;

several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Elza Mae Chisum and Wanda Smith; three brothers, Bill Hunt, Arthur Hunt and Earl Hunt; and one daughter-in-law, Lori Hunt.

Active Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Wednesday at Agent Millsap Event Center in Gore, Oklahoma.
