Karen Lea Robinson was born on January 21, 1934 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Wayne Grant Robinson and Erma (Tyler) Robinson. She died in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at the age of 87.
Karen graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah with a degree in art. She taught art in high schools in Kansas and California. She owned and operated a lapidary shop in California where she taught jewelry making.
Karen loved the Lord and was a member of First Christian Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
Karen was very sociable. She enjoyed visiting with others. She was one of the most generous persons that one would ever meet.
Karen had a fondness for animals and had many pets over the years; cats, dogs, and even a skunk! Her last pet was her cat Ruby. Ruby was her constant companion and died five days after Karen.
Karen was predeceased by her mother Erma Crawford, her sister Sue Robinson, and her close friend Lorri Bakerink.
She is survived by cousins, friends, and her friend/caregiver.
Karen’s ashes were interred at the Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
