He was born on March 21, 1949 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Vera Mae Steele Matthews and Troy Golden Matthews and passed away on May 26, 2018 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Mary Sue Eubanks on August 22, 1988 in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was an U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and a salesman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers: Raymond McGowan Jr., Carl Matthews, Troy Matthews and James Matthews, and 3 sisters: Thelma Ware, Norma Sheppard and Patsy Coatney

Viewing will be 1 – 8 pm Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, OK.
