Memorial service for Kim Hoover, 66, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Long Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on June 2, 1954 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Ettie Louise (Hobbs) Hoover and Herbert James Hoover and passed away on March 5, 2021 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Shirley Mae Hoover. She preceded him in death on February 16, 2021. Mr. Hoover was a mechanic. Kim was a devoted Christian, husband, father, son, brother and friend. Kim suffered a stroke many years ago which limited his mobility. In recent years Kim found the most joy spending time with his devoted wife and care taker Shirley, grandchildren and family. Kim loved visiting and talking on the phone with his close family and friends. In healthier times Kim was an avid reader, self-trained artist and loved spending time in the outdoors enjoying nature. Kim had a way with animals and a love of both dogs and cats. Kim was a larger than life presence in the lives of those that knew and loved him. Kim is loved by many and will be missed until we see him again in God’s embrace.
Survivors are:
son: Joseph M. Hoover and daughter-in-law Allison of Hibbet AR;
step-children: Andrea and Amanda;
grandchildren: Dalton, Ethan, Autumn, Kyle, Mitchel and Tristan;
brothers and sisters: Phyllis Balding of Bassett WI, Herbert J. Hoover Jr. and wife Connie of Molden MO, Charles Hoover and wife Juanita of Sallisaw, OK, Doug Hoover and wife Sharon of Sallisaw, OK and Rebecca Hoover of Sallisaw, OK.
Kim is also survived many close nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.
Kim was preceded in death by his wife, father: Herbert James Hoover and mother: Ettie Louise Hoover and younger sister: Donna Jean Lockhart.
The family has requested no floral tributes.
In an effort to protect family and friends’ health there will not be a post service gathering.
