Services for L.C. “Sonny” Rowland, Jr., 96 of Tulsa, Oklahoma will be at 10 am on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Southeast Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Roland City Cemetery in Roland, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on March 8, 1922 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Margaret Ray McCoully and Lucious Cummings Rowland and passed away on August 14, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was married to Carolyn Jean (Buffington) Rowland on September 28, 1957 in Miami, Oklahoma. He was a mechanic for Fred Jones Lincoln Mercury for 20 years and American Airlines for 18 years and a U.S. Air Force Veteran .

2 granddaughters: Meshell Rice of Broken Arrow, OK and Amy Mills of Glenpool, OK

6 great grandsons: Michael Campbell, Coby Campbell, James Mills, Willie Rice, Aaron Rice, and Jesse Rice

several great great grandchildren

1 sister: Evelyn Pierce of Shawnee, OK

2 brothers: Vernal Rowland of Marlow, OK and Bobby Joe Rowland of Bakersfield, CA

several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucious Cummings Rowland and Margaret Ray McCoully and 2 brothers, LeRoy and Wesley Rowland.
