He was born on December 24, 1948 in Sanford, North Carolina to Nannie (Woods) Holmes and Frank Holmes and passed away on January 23, 2020 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He married Wanda (Norris) Holmes on June 2, 1997 in Laflan, Nevada. He was a paint contractor and an U.S. Army Veteran.

Survivors are:

wife: Wanda of the home;

4 daughters: Tammy Holmes of Sanford, N.C., Kimberly Perkins of Sallisaw, OK, Kathy Holmes of Sanford, N.C. and Angie Holmes of Sanford, N.C.;

1 son: Jerry W. Holmes of Sanford, N.C.;

9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren;

1 sister: Betty Adams of Smithfield, N.C.;

several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
