Private service for Lawrence Gilbert Riggs, 77 of Muldrow, Oklahoma is under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on August 15, 1943 to Mary Jane (Shamblin) Riggs and Raymond Riggs and passed away on December 26, 2020 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Gilbert was born and raised in The Liberty community north of Muldrow where he attended school as a youngster. Gilbert attended Mineral Springs Free Will Baptist Church and liked to play dominos and watch western movies. Gilbert loved people and loved to talk. He never met a stranger.

Survivors are:

3 sisters: Linda Bledsoe of Muldrow, OK Mary Ann Barnes and husband Vernon of Muldrow, OK and Sandra Smith and husband Charles of Muldrow, OK;

2 sisters in law: Joann Riggs and Magdalene Riggs of Roland, OK and 1 brother in law: Joe Criswell of Muldrow, OK;

30 nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parent:s Raymond and Mary, 3 brothers J.W. Riggs, Billy Ray Riggs and Rick Riggs, and 3 sisters, Ruby Moore, Margaret Criswell and Vickie Boyd.

Viewing will be 10 am – 8 pm Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, OK.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Mineral Springs Baptist Church.
