Leon Meek

Memorial service for Leon Meek, 84 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Blue Ribbon Fellowship Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Cremation is under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on October 13, 1936 in Wilburton, Oklahoma to Janie Mozelle (Scott) Meeks and Sherman Meeks and passed away on August 27, 2021 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Ann Meek on June 21, 1959 in Haileyville, Oklahoma. He was a horse trainer including horses; Easy Hempen Chick, Chick Easy colors, Jet’s First Rocket, Gentleman John, Annie Mae, Special Hero, and numerous other winners. He was a rancher and a member of Blue Ribbon Fellowship Chapel. He enjoyed time spent with family and watching them compete in rodeos.

Survivors are:

wife: Ann Meek of the home;

4 daughters: Sammie Harper and Tommy of Bokoshe, OK, Kasey Lowrie and Roger of Smithville, OK, Teddi Meek of Sallisaw, OK and Dusti Pollard and John of Bokoshe, OK;

2 sons: Quince Meek of Sallisaw, OK and Shaun Meek and Paula of Alma, AR;

9 grandchildren: Jason, Rusty, Kristi, Boomer, Kodi, Shawna, Brett, Dixie, and J.W. and 12 great-grandchildren;

several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ronnie Meek.
