Lillian (Craghead) Abbott

Lillian (Craghead) Abbott, 92, of Vian, Oklahoma, passed away on January 27, 2025, in Vian. She was born on April 14, 1932, in Vian, Oklahoma, to Dica (Smith) Craghead and Jess Craghead. Lillian was married to Grady Lee Abbott on January 15, 1954, in Valley Center, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2019. Lillian was a dedicated homemaker and held strong to her Southern Baptist faith. 

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Newcomer and Richard of Broken Arrow, OK; two sons, Kenneth Abbott and Donna of Broken Arrow, OK, and Jim Abbott of Norman, OK; seven grandchildren: John Abbott of Coweta, OK, Kimberly Collins of Broken Arrow, OK, Greg Abbott of Norman, OK, Audra Abbott of Mustang, OK, Jared Abbott of Oklahoma City, OK, Jason Newcomer of Warner, OK, and Jessica Womble of Tulsa, OK; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Ona Holeman of Hot Springs, AR, and Gladys Thornton of Vian, OK; her brother, Lynard Craghead of Vian, OK; and several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three brothers: Leo Craghead, Floyd Craghead, and Don Craighead.

A viewing will take place at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2025, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home, followed by burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma.

Active Pallbearers will be Jason Newcomer, James Thornton, Howard Womble, John Abbott, Michael Collins, and Strates Craghead.
