Survivors are wife, Geneva of the home; one son, Eric Poindexter and Isaac of Tulsa, OK; three sisters, Jeanie Risenhoover of Sallisaw, OK, Lucy Poindexter of Drumright, OK and Vivian Bailey-Taylor of Sallisaw, OK; two brothers, Ernest Poindexter and Neal Poindexter, both of Sallisaw, OK; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Poindexter; parents; one sister, Janie Poindexter; and one brother, Odie Poindexter.
