Lula Asbill

Funeral Service for Lula Asbill will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Lula Asbill, age 95, passed away on March 3, 2024 in Wichita, Kansas. Lula was born in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma and grew up in Canute, Oklahoma. Lula graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1947. After marrying Walter Asbill, they moved to Oklahoma City in 1948, where they lived until retirement. Lula retired from Western Electric. After they both retired, they moved back to Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Lula lost her husband in 2002; and lost her only child, Walter Lee Asbill, in 2003. Lula moved to Wichita, Kansas in 2017 and spent the rest of her life around family and friends.

She was full of love, compassion, and generosity which will be missed by all those who knew her.

Survivors are two brothers, Kenneth (Rosa) Pruitt of Wichita, KS and Terry (Linda) Pruitt of Sallisaw, OK; aunt, Mable Ellis; and long time friend, Lucy Randolph.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Grace Pruitt; husband, Walter Parker Asbill; son, Walter Lee Asbill; four brothers, J.D., George, Hooley and Junior; and her sister, Bonnie Rogers.

Pallbearers will be JT Pruitt, Eddie Pruitt, Jimmy Rogers, Garrison Pruitt, Garrett Pruitt and Grant Pruitt.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
