Funeral service for Lynda (Crutchfield) Simmons, 72 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on December 27, 1949 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Lady (Sparks) Crutchfield and John Crutchfield and passed away on August 20, 2022 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to George Simmons on June 10, 1972 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Mrs. Simmons was an elementary school teacher at Sallisaw Public Schools for 37 years and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors are:

husband: George of the home;

3 sons: William Simmons of Sallisaw, OK, Josh Simmons and Sonya of Lindale, TX and Geordi Simmons of the home;

2 grandchildren: Evan and Jaxon;

2 brothers: Richard Crutchfield and Pam of Sallisaw, OK and John Crutchfield and Dean of Oolagah, OK;

several nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters: Mavis Luttrell, Mary Jo Hemphill and Pat Crowson, 1 brother: Luther Crutchfield.

Honorary Pallbearers include Ray Sparks, Curtis Stephens, Tony Crowson, Tim Crutchfield, Mike Wheeler, Scott Bailey, Lance Kitrell, Brad Stites, Rod Hemphill and Nick Neff.

Viewing will be 1 – 8 pm Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6 – 8 pm.
