She was a true teacher, and what I learned from her instruction helped me in college and on into life. I do not think I would be an author today if she hadn't taught me the fundamentals of language. I only wish I had been a better pupil. Her family and friends are in my prayers.

She truly was the queen of her family. I admire the love and devotion that the family has for one another. You guys are truly the example of what family means. Mrs. Gibson was a much respected lady and definitely blessed to have her family by her side all the way! I love you all and will be praying for comfort and peace! Love, Lanette Turpin

What kind of tribute message would one write to a woman who literally saved you by taking you under her wing? Mrs. Gibson saved me from being overtaken by sadness and despair at an early age when I was given the good fortune of being in her English class. She taught me much more than grammar or how to conjugate a verb. She instilled in me a love of literature and reading and sentence structure. My best memories of school days center around her and all that she did for me. I truly loved her and my life will not be the same without her in it. My sincere sympathies to her dear family. She was one of a kind and they do not make ladies like her anymore. I hope she is proud of me and my writing from heaven on high as she grades my paper! I’m prayer for all of you. With my love, Cathy
