Marcia Dianne Webb was born in Fort Smith, AR to Leland and Margurette Webb. She was raised and educated through high school in Sallisaw, OK. Marcia was a member and officer of numerous organizations in high school.

Upon graduation she attended NESU and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Education with a major in elementary education. She taught in Marble City and then moved to Dallas to be with her sister Mary Katherine, where she taught in a Dallas area elementary school for several years. They stayed in Dallas several years then returned to Sallisaw to join their family in the nursing home business. Marcia and Mary Katherine were both licensed nursing home administrators.

Marcia and Mary Katherine traveled a lot during their time. They spent 6 weeks in Europe visiting 13 countries.

In 1973 Marcia was asked to star in a Sequoyah County Arts and Humanities theater production of Mame. That is when life changed for Marcia. Mame was a hit and led her to come to Fort Smith to join the Fort Smith Little Theater group. Marcia stared in numerous productions including; Annie Get Your Gun, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Little Women, Hello Dolly, and many others. Marcia was also active in the Fort Smith Junior League and The Red Stocking Review.

In 1984 she revived the role of Miss Laura Zeigler who had one of the bordellos along the river front from 1898 till 1910 in a restaurant in Miss Laura’s Social Club. Marcia was the hostess portraying Miss Laura in historic costume she created, greeting visitors from far and wide.

During her lifetime, Marcia touched many lives as a teacher, juvenile intake counselor for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, nursing home administrator, theatrical performer, and a friend to many.

Marcia was a member of First Baptist Church in Sallisaw and a former member of the Community Bible Class of Van Buren. She also attended the Pastors Class at First Baptist Church in For Smith for many years.

On Monday, June 18th Marcia went to heaven to meet her mother, father, sister, grandmother, and the three loves of her life, her Rottweilers, Princess, Bobo, and Gracie. She leaves her nephew Todd and his wife Kelli, her Brother-in-law Calvin Remy, several cousins, and many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to First Baptist Church, 1400 Grand Avenue, Fort Smith or the Sebastian County Humane Society.

Services will be held Friday June 22, 10:00 am at the Agent & Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, OK. The family will greet friends from 5:00 t0 7:00 pm Thursday, June 21st.
