Graveside services for Margaret Maydean (Bruton) Deese, 89 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on February 22, 1931 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Grace (Adams) Bruton and Walter Bruton and passed away on August 1, 2020 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Leaton E. Deese on October 19, 1959 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1998. Mrs. Deese was a former cook at Sallisaw Public Schools and of the Holiness faith. She enjoyed cooking, growing flowers and going to church.

Survivors are:

daughter: Karen Brooks and Mike of Muldrow, OK;

son: Terry Deese of Sallisaw, OK;

grandchild: Micah Brooks of Muldrow, OK;

numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters: Lucille Glover, Illa Barnes and Jessie Mae Calloway and brothers: Watie Bruton, Jess Calvin Bruton and Joe Bruton.

Viewing will be noon – 8 pm Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6 – 8 pm.
