He was born on June 6, 1969 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Doris (Goff) Blair and Thomas Lee Grant and passed away on March 19, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Mark was a professional advice giver (self proclaimed), expert goofball and dad joke enthusiast. He was a magician who specialized in pulling arguments out of thin air, has a PhD in making you laugh until you hurt with a minor in standing on your very last nerve. The very last one. Mark was also a loving father to the children who lit up his life.
He will be missed by his 2 daughters: Krista Grant (Bryant Lewis) of Roland, Oklahoma and Brooke Starkweather (Dennis Starkweather II) of Fort Smith, Arkansas and 1 son: Colden Carter (Kadee Daws) of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Mark also helped care for many kids during his 51 years on earth, some, who still call him dad. His bonus children: Chris Sanford, Tyler Terry, Patricia, John and Junior Hamilton. Mark was a tune humming, teeth whistlin,’ smile making Papaw to Emmett Starkweather who will miss his Papaw’s tummy tickles. He will remain in the loving thoughts of his Mother: Doris Blair of Roland, Oklahoma; his brothers and sisters: Brenda Green (Eddie Green) of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Timothy Grant (Gayvonne Grant) of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Andrea Cottrell of Hickory, Kentucky, and Matthew Grant (Kacey Grant) of Muldrow, Oklahoma. He’s also missed by a slew of cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved him.
Awaiting his arrival: His Father, Thomas Grant; and Father figures: Jake Blair and Kenneth Blair; his sister, Sandy; and all his grandparents.
Proud to take the title of Pallbearers are Levi Grant, Logan Grant, Dennis Starkweather, Aaron Rowe, Shawn Green and Dewayne Cottrell.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dan Lee, Edward Green, Shane Gregory, Chris Gregory, Brandon Gregory, Andrew Cottrell and Jayven Grant.
Mark was a carpenter, who enjoyed spending time with his family, children, his precious grandson and eating good food made by his Mama. Mark was always looking for a good time and if he couldn’t find one he’d make one. He will be missed and thought about everyday but knowing he’s somewhere making silly faces at someone is what we’re holding onto. We’ll be missing you.
Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
