He was born on December 29, 1960 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Rosa (Payne) Herod and Leonard Earl Herod and passed away on August 6, 2020 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He was married to Leslie Standeford Herod on July 20, 1979 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. He was a flooring installer.

Survivors are:

wife: Leslie of the home;

1 daughter: Jennifer Stoner of Vian, OK;

2 sons: Josh Herod and Jan of Vian, OK and Matthew Herod and Pattie of Vian, OK;

5 grandchidren: Nicki, Kylie, Ryker, Brooklyn and Gavin;

2 brothers: Doug Herod of Vian, OK and Rick Herod and Debbie of Tulsa, OK;

several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant daughters, Laura and Kimberly.
