A Memorial Service for Mary Lou (Hight) Thompson, 83, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June, 19, 2021 at Family Life Center, 2710 West Cherokee, Sallisaw, OK. Cremation Service is under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Mary Lou Hight was born on January 21, 1938 in Sallisaw, OK to William Jacob Hight and Ruby Katherine (Hamil) Hight. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 at her home in Sallisaw, OK.

She married her one and only love Clemence John Thompson on June 16, 1962 and they settled back in Sallisaw, OK from Waukegan, IL in 1973 to raise their two daughters. She worked at KRBB radio station before moving on to work at the Sequoyah County Health Department where she was involved with the WIC program and in later years the ElderCare program before retiring. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sallisaw. She loved gardening and reading.

Survivors are one daughter & son-in-law Elizabeth (Libby) & Charles Starks of Sallisaw, four grandchildren, John Starks & wife Kristin, Jackie Beth Byrd & husband Ryan, Jesse Froehlich and Christopher Froehlich; six great grandchildren, Gage, Aidan, Elise, Sawyer, Xander & Hurley K; brother-in-law, John Knight of Russellville; sister-in-law, Velma Hight of Sallisaw; Sister-In-Law Mary Hight of Sallisaw; Brother-in-law Mickey & Sherry Thompson of Pennsylvania, Brother-in-Law Carl Thompson of OKC, OK, Sister-in-law Christine Quakenbush of Sallisaw and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clem on December 30, 2019; her parents; one daughter Amy Kristine Thompson Froehlich; one Grandson Robert John Starks; four brothers, Bennie, JJ, Byron & wife Rose Ellen and Robert & wife Freda; four sisters, Louise Berg, Marcella Knight, Nellie Sue Barger & husband Si, and June Dorsey & husband Jody; and brother-in-law, Ron Quakenbush.
