Funeral Service for Mary Charlene (Lessley) Walkingstick, 90, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on April 11, 1932 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Emma Louise (Floyd) Lessley and Samuel Clarence Lessley and passed away on March 12, 2023 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Louis Dwight Walkingstick, Sr. on August 1952. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2018. She was a retired educator for Sallisaw Public Schools for over 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sallisaw, Oklahoma and a former Sunday School Teacher.

Survivors are daughter, Mary Frances Elliott of Sallisaw, OK; son, Louis Walkingstick, Jr. and Christy of Sallisaw, OK; three grandchildren, Justin Benham, Matthew Walkingstick and Erica, and Samuel Walkingstick; four great-grandchildren, Annastin Benham, Austin Benham, Caleb Walkingstick and Luke Walkingstick; one brother, Jimmy Lessley of Sallisaw, OK; and several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Dorthene Pointer; and two brothers, Lawton Lessley and Bernie Lessley.

Active Pallbearers will be Justin Benham, Austin Benham, Matthew Walkingstick, Sam Walkingstick, Bo Welch, Dalton Lessley, Bennett Lessley and Carter Lessley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ladies of the First Baptist Church of Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
