Services for Mavis (Anderson) Bess, 93, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on January 30, 1926 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Theodocia Adeline (Fink) Anderson and George Arthur Anderson and passed away on July 1, 2019 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Walt Tollison on August 28, 1943 and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1967. She then married Marion Bess on December 21, 1968 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 1992. She was a homemaker and Christian.

Survivors are:

3 daughters: Judy Hinesley of Bozeman, MT, Harriett Chavez of Bakersfield, CA and Jo Bauer of Sallisaw, OK;

6 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren;

sister: Maxine Hines of Pensacola, FL;

numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband: Walt Tollison, second husband: Marion Bess, parents, 1 granddaughter: Julianne Bauer and 8 siblings: Trueman “High” Willard Anderson, George “Speck” Lester Anderson, Cecil “Perk” Edmond Anderson, Quenette, Rita, Betty, J.B. and Mac.

Viewing will be 4 – 8 PM Friday, 10 AM – 8 PM Saturday and 2 – 8 PM Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
