Maxine (Brewer) Sparkman

Services for Maxine Brewer Sparkman, 95, formerly of Ft. Smith, AR will be at 1:00pm on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Gans Bible Church in Gans, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Gans Cemetery in Gans, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on September 3, 1923 in Gans, Oklahoma to Elizabeth Leona Taylor Brewer and Doc Britton Brewer and went home to be with the Lord on September 8, 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was married to Jack Walton Sparkman on March 27, 1944 in Sallisaw, OK. She was a homemaker.

Survivors are:

1 daughter: Dr. Cathey and Kevin Powers of Little Rock, AR

1 son: David and Nancy Sparkman of Tulsa, OK

3 grandchildren: Adam Sparkman of Santa Fe, NM, Elizabeth Chael of Kansas City, KS, and Jackson Powers of Little Rock, AR

1 great grandchild: Summer Sparkman

1 brother: Fred Brewer of Sallisaw, OK

several nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, Doc and Elizabeth Brewer; 3 sisters, Alene Pyles, Daphine Holder, and Pauline Holder; and 3 brothers, Norman Brewer, Raymond Brewer, and Curtis Brewer.

Viewing will be Thursday from 1 – 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet from 5 – 7 pm.

Active Pallbearers are Jerry Holder, Bob Hill, Alan Holder, Adam Sparkman, Jackson Powers, and Kelly Youngblood
