Melba (Miller) Trueblood, age 72, of Marble City, Oklahoma, passed away on February 16, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on October 21, 1952, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late Emma Dell (Essary) Miller and Homer Miller. Melba's life was characterized by her dedication to her profession and her love for family. She embarked on her nursing career as a registered nurse, demonstrating remarkable commitment as she worked as a travel nurse, a home health nurse, and in various hospitals. Her compassion and expertise left a lasting impact on those she cared for throughout her career. She had a tremendous faith in God. On June 14, 1969, Melba married James Alan Trueblood in Marble City, Oklahoma. Together they built a life filled with love and shared interests. James preceded her in death on September 10, 2010. Melba had many passions that brought her joy. She found comfort in the pages of a good book, spent time riding horses, and delighted in the warmth of country cooking, sharing these moments with loved ones. 

Melba is survived by her son, Darin Trueblood of Marble City, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Darik Trueblood and Lacy of Brushy, Oklahoma, and Kaleb Trueblood and Jade of Marble City, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Lillian Trueblood of Brushy, Oklahoma; her sister, Joyce Strong and Buddy of Roland, Oklahoma; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Melba is preceded in death by her husband, James Alan Trueblood; her parents; two sisters, Evelyn Marie Turnman and Wilma June McClure; and three brothers, Bud Miller, Earvil Miller, and Herbert Miller.

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Melba will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Darik Trueblood, Kaleb Trueblood, Mike Ellis, and Charlie Miller.
