Graveside services for Merlin H. Larson, 88, of Enid, will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.

He was born September 9, 1932, in Newman Grove, Nebraska to Roxie Meta (Pedersen) and Martin Hans Larson and died Monday, February 1, 2021, at home with family in Collinsville. He graduated from Stanton High School. He married the love of his life, Billie Jean (Dinsmore) in 1957. They made their home in Bartlesville for years, moved to Utah, Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands, until finally settling in the Enid area permanently. He enlisted in the Army and served in Korea and the Nevada Proving Grounds until his honorable discharge in 1953. Through the years he worked numerous jobs including paint and body work, law enforcement and the oilfield. He loved gardening, reading, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by 3 daughters and their spouses, Sherri Dady, Rita and Burlie Hess, and PJ and Richard Hanscom. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, and his sister.
