Funeral service for Michael Byron Smith, 70 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Fleetwood Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on June 1, 1949 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Dorothy Laverne (Holcomb) James and Harrison Smith and passed away on October 7, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. He was married to LaDonna Mae Hamilton Smith on June 12, 1970 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Mr. Smith was a diesel mechanic, a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam serving 1969 – 1970 and a member of Hanson Baptist Church for over 32 years, where he served as a Deacon. He attended Panola School and Westark College.

Survivors are:

wife, LaDonna of the home;

2 daughters, Tammy Smith of Sallisaw, OK and Darra Young of the home;

2 sons, Michael W. Smith of Sallisaw, OK and Jakob Smith and wife, Ashley of Sallisaw, OK;

granddaughter, Morgan Jessika Morris of the home;

great grandson, Linkoln Drake Michael Smith of Sallisaw, OK;

sister, Lahoma Wilcox of Red Oak, OK;

brother-in-law, Billy Hamilton of Midwest City, OK;

many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Rhonda Michelle Smith, parents, special cousin that passed the same day: Ruben Della, brother-in-law: Jack Wilcox, sisters-in-law: Sharon and Virginia Hamilton, mother-in-law and father-in-law: William and Dena Hamilton

Active pallbearers will be Michael Turner, Jakob Smith, Brandon Young, David Young, Calvin Lockhart and Billy Hamilton, Jr..

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Smith, Morgan L. Morris, Morgan J. Morris and Hanson Baptist Church Deacons.

Viewing will be Noon – 8 pm Wednesday and 10 am – 8 pm Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 pm Thursday.
