Michael Clay Rhodes

Funeral Service for Michael “Mike” Clay Rhodes, 71, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Woodland Hills Church, 810 South Roland Road – Roland, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on July 15, 1950 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Hazel (Pendergrass) Rhodes Clough and Harold Edgar Rhodes and passed away on September 12, 2021 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. He was married to Patti (Fletcher) Rhodes on June 6, 1975 in Roland, Oklahoma. He formerly worked at Arkla Gas Company as a meter technician for 25 years and was a member and Deacon at Woodland Hills Church in Roland, Oklahoma. After his retirement from Arkla Gas Company, he was a maintenance worker for the U.S. Postal Offices in Muldrow and Vian. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved OU Football. He was a Sallisaw Black Diamond Wrestler in his high school years. Watching Gunsmoke or Andy Griffith while eating was his favorite way to relax.

Survivors are:

wife of 46 years: Patti (Fletcher) Rhodes of the home;

son: Clayton Colby Rhodes of Muldrow, OK;

brother: Tommy Rhodes and Sharon of Sallisaw, OK;

mother-in-law: Doris Fletcher of Muldrow, OK;

sister-in-law: Tori Ransom and Jeff of Muldrow, OK;

nephews: Grant, Gary, Jeremy, Tony, Randy and Levi Rhodes and Joe Fate Ransom;

nieces: Lynell Rhodes Martin and Sydney Rhodes Miles;

numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harold “Joe” Rhodes, Jr., Phillip Dean Rhodes, Mark Freeman Rhodes and Charles Reginald Rhodes; and his father-in-law, Joe Pat Fletcher.

Active Pallbearers will be Jeff Ransom, Joe Fate Ransom, Tommy Rhodes, Grant Rhodes, Gary Rhodes, Jeremy Rhodes, Randy Rhodes, Jason Chisum and Ted Price.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Bert Chisum, Mark Steely, Tony Rhodes, Glenn Hoopaw, Larry Randolph, Larry Sparks, Jake Black, Steven Keith, Vic Benefield and Levi Rhodes.

Viewing and Visitation will be 10 AM – 8 PM Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Chapel in Muldrow, OK where the family will greet 5 – 7 PM.
