Michael Harold Lawrence, 72, of Gans, Oklahoma, originally from Patterson, California, peacefully passed this earthly life on February 19, 2023 in Ft Smith, AR. Mike was born May 30, 1950 to Patty Jean Irene & Ray Lawrence in Des Moines, IA. He was the 2nd oldest of 9 children, with 2 surviving siblings in California. On May 30, 1969, Mike married the love of his life, Jane, and together, they had 3 daughters. They were married for 47 years when Jane passed this earthly life in 2016.
Mike was a man of all trades, but his most favorite was truck driving, which he did for over 50 years. Mike also had a few hobbies that he loved doing, woodworking was one of them, he could create anything from a piece of wood. His family has lots of his beautiful pieces to treasure for years to come. Besides woodworking, Mike’s most beloved hobby was riding his Harley. He had many Harleys over the years. His girls like to say that he rode so much and for so long, that they were pretty much raised on the back of a Harley. They can’t ever remember a weekend growing up, that their front yard wasn’t flooded with Harleys. Their house was the gathering place for all biker friends to hang out. Most of those biker friends were more like family!
Mike leaves behind 3 daughters, Lori King & husband Alan, of Marengo, IL; Jennifer Camp & husband Michael, of Sallisaw, OK and Lisa Overby of Sallisaw, OK & Dwaine “Buba” Overby of Wagoner, OK. Mike also leaves behind a dear, true friend, who is a brother, not by blood, but by perfect choice, James “Jimmy” Ledbetter and wife, Gayle and their son, Travis of Orangevale, CA.
