Muriel Dean (Vessell) Hallum

Funeral service for Muriel Dean (Vessell) Hallum, 88, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Lee’s Chapel Assembly of God Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on October 24, 1931 in Paw Paw, Oklahoma to Vera Opal (DuVall) Vessell and James Odus Vessell and passed away on October 17, 2020 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was married to Arlin Ray “Pete” Hallum on June 1, 1952 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2015. She was a homemaker and of the Assembly of God faith. The family would like to say a special ‘Thank You’ to the staff at Alma Health and Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care.

Survivors are:

2 daughters and sons-in-law: Joan Taylor and John of Muldrow, OK and Brenda Johnson and Jerry of Muldrow, OK;

2 sons and daughters-in-law: R.G. Hallum and Deborah of Muldrow, OK and Mark Hallum and Jennifer of Muldrow, OK;

9 grandchildren: Jeremy Hallum, Jordan Taylor, Jennifer Sharp and Heath, Jarrod Taylor and Hillary, RaAnda List and Jordan, Gideon Hallum, Rachel Hallum, Delaney Hallum and Luke Hallum;

7 great-grandchildren: Jaycee Hallum, Audrey Sharp, Ethan Taylor, Kallie Sharp, Wyatt Taylor, Maddyx Hallum and Bailey Sharp;

2 sisters: Carol Falleur of Muldrow, OK and Shirley Goodwin of Owasso, OK;

2 brothers: Jimmy Vessell and Bobby Vessell both of Muldrow, OK;

special sister-in-law: Fay Prescott;

numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray “Pete” Hallum and her parents, Odus and Opal Vessell.

Active Pallbearers will be Jeremy Hallum, Jarrod Taylor, Gideon Hallum, Luke Hallum, Heath Sharp and Jordan List.

Visitation will be as follows: Tuesday 12:00pm – 8:00pm and Wednesday 10:00am – 12:00pm at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, OK. Wednesday afternoon from 1:00pm – 8:00pm at Lee’s Chapel Assembly of God where the family will greet visitors 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
