Myria (Locust) Ballard

Funeral service for Myria Locust Ballard, 87 of Vian, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Vian Creek Baptist Church in Vian, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Barnoski Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on June 8, 1932 in Vian, Oklahoma to Ella (Beaver) Locust and Jess L. Locust and passed away on January 30, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was married to Tuxa Ballard on February 1, 1949 in Van Buren, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1991. Mrs. Ballard was a retired RN.

Survivors are:

2 daughters: Kay Tackett of Vian, OK and Katina Cline of Tulsa, OK;

12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren;

2 brothers: Jay Locust of Ft. Gibson, OK and James Locust of Vian, OK;

numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Tuxa Ballard, son: Tuxa Tilton Ballard, daughter: Connie Book, parents, 2 sisters: Paula Christie and Edith Dalton, brothers: Lewis Locust, Vince Locust, Abraham Locust, Oaks Locust, Charles “Rocky” Locust and Mike McConnell.

Active Pallbearers will be Mvhayv Locust, Trey Hightower, Buck Locust, Lesley Locust, Ross Cline, Scott Thompson and Renny Russell.

Viewing will be 4 – 8 pm Friday, 10 am – 8 pm Saturday and 2 – 8 pm Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 4 – 6 pm Sunday.
