Funeral Service for Opal Alpha Mosby, 78, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on August 16, 1941 in Maple community, Oklahoma to Eunice Mae (Coatney) Long and Alexander Lugustus Mattingly and passed away on January 6, 2020 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She was married to Sherrell Mosby on January 6, 1960 in Van Buren, Arkansas. She was a former healthcare provider and worked for Whirlpool Corporation. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors are:

husband: Sherrell of the home;

2 sons: Calvin Mosby of Sallisaw, OK and Paul Mosby and Linda of Sallisaw, OK;

1 daughter: Cheryl Adele and Danny Wann of Sallisaw, OK;

8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild;

4 brothers: William Henry Mattingly of Topeka, KS, Leroy Mattingly of Wichita, KS, James Mattingly of Coyle, OK and Ronnie Joe Mattingly of Sallisaw, OK;

She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Joseph “J.W.” Mosby and Ronald Mosby; 1 daughter, Twanna Stephens; parents; 1 sister, Mary Lou Brewer; and 1 brother, John Frank Mattingly.

Active Pallbearers will be Steve Mosby, Brad Mosby, Dean Mosby, Calvin Mosby, Paul Mosby and Ritchie Mosby.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Aaron Mosby, Chris Mosby, Ricky Walters and David Weisenfels.

Viewing will be 4 – 8 PM Tuesday and 10 AM – 8 PM Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
