Patricia 'Patty' Dane Fulbright

Funeral Service for Patricia Dane “Patty” Fulbright, 78, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Blackgum Harvestime Church in Vian, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Patricia (Patty) Dane Fulbright was born April 8, 1945 and died February 9, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She lived a beautiful, dignified life. A discerning woman of exquisite taste, she provided comfort and solace while asking little in return. Her husband of 59 years, Larry, adored her and together they taught their children, Chip, Charlie and Kyle, integrity, loyalty and compassion, imbuing them with the confidence necessary to pursue life with a pervasive, contagious fervor.

Patty was born to the late Archie and Audine Cantwell and spent a lot of time at her grandparents’ farm over the summer months. This is where she learned to cook and bake and develop her passion for the scripture with her grandmother, Pearl Cantwell. She lived in Charleston, Arkansas through the eighth grade and then she moved to San Antonio, Texas due to her dad being transferred with the U.S. Army. While her dad was stationed in San Antonio, Texas, she met the love of her life, Larry Ray Fulbright, and they created a beautiful life together. They were married in August of 1964.

They started their life together in San Antonio until Larry was commissioned in the U.S. Army in 1966 and she followed him around the world until 1994. No matter where they were in the world or what was going on she always created the best home for her family. In 2011, she and Larry went into business and became a staple in the Vian community. She was forever supporting Vian high school sports by hosting dinners for the different teams and could be seen in the bleachers every Friday night no matter how far they traveled. They bought The Wolf at Tenkiller and had a restaurant that people would drive from all over to eat at.

Patty was a do-er. If you wanted something done everyone knew Patty would help, take care of it! She had active roles in her church serving on various committees, she volunteered at her sons’ and grandchildren’s’ schools, she was a loving mother and everyone’s biggest cheerleader. Patty always had your back! She was also blessed with a green thumb and always knew the tricks for growing more tomatoes or how to transplant flowers. She was one of the craftiest people alive. She doled in creating ceramic creations with her friend, Dusty Slaton, that she sold throughout craft shows when she lived in Texas. She could knit, sew, play the piano, and was one of the most amazing cooks. Most will fondly remember Patty for being the biggest cheerleader for her kids and grandkids, her witty sense of humor and also her delicious pies. Her pies earned the highest bids at church auctions and a pretty penny at the golf course restaurant that she and Larry owned!

Patty is survived by her loving husband Larry, their three sons Chip and wife, Joanne, of Winnie, TX, Charlie and fiancé, Ashley Watts, of Vian, and Kyle and wife, Jessica, of Bentonville, AR, 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was an avid Arkansas Razorbacks, Dallas Cowboys, and Vian athletics fan. We will hear her Call the Hogs on gamedays, and she requested that the Dallas Cowboys show up to her funeral to act as pallbearers so they could let her down one more time. She was also involved with the military her whole life, with her dad, Archie, and husband, Larry, being in the U.S. Army and her son, Chip, being in the U.S. Navy. Her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She was creative to the point even if the world was coming down around her, she could make up a little song to make you forget what you were going through. She was so kind and passionate. She made an impact on many lives throughout the country and world. She will be forever missed. Until we meet again.

Active Pallbearers will be Chip Fulbright, Charlie Fulbright, Kyle Fulbright, Michael Fulbright, Hudson Fulbright and Kaden Fulbright.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kristen Fulbright Shirk, Faith Fulbright, Kaia Fulbright, and Harper Fulbright, Brayden Watts, Kylar Watts and Connor Howman.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
