Patsy Ruth (Rice) Starr

Funeral Service for Patsy Ruth Starr, 82 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on October 28, 1939 in Waldron, Arkansas to Daisy (Frazier) Cardwell and Grady Rice and passed away on May 18, 2022 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Bobby Doyle Starr on August 31, 1957 in Poteau, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2021. Mrs. Starr was co-owner/operator of Star Furniture Manufacturing Company.

Survivors are:

2 daughters: Reecia Goodwin of Sallisaw, OK and Regina Southerland and Robert of Bokoshe, OK;

1 son: Robert Starr and Marilyn of Sallisaw, OK;

12 grandchildren: Amanda Lee, Nick Starr, Andrea Starr, Tammy Heckel, KEvin Horn, Alicia Goodwin, Chelsea Hogan, Emily Quickel, Shelby James, Scott Southerland, Jeremy Southerland and Stephen Southerland;

32 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren;

1 brother: Grady Riceand Susie of Van Buren, AR;

Other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 2 sisters: Lajune Hatley and Beth Koprovic.

Active Pallbearers will be Ben Hogan, Nick Starr, Michael Lee, Conner James, David Kehl and Robert Southerland.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Fisher Lee, Isaac O’Neal, Isaiah O’Neal, Eli Stacy, E.J. Stacy, Chase Quickel and Kevin Horn.

Viewing will be 4 – 8 pm Friday, 10 am – 6 pm Saturday and 2 – 8 pm Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 4 – 6 pm Sunday.
