Robert A. Kilgore

Funeral Service for Robert A. Kilgore, 84, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will be at 1:00 PM at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on July 16, 1939 in Cedars, Oklahoma to Eunice Juil (Colley) Kilgore and Arnold Ben Kilgore and passed away on September 8, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Robert grew up in Pocola, Oklahoma and enlisted into the U.S. Navy at the age of 17. He proudly served his country from 1956 to 1962. Early in his working years, he worked for Gibson’s Discount Center where he traveled to and lived in many cities before making his home with his daughter in Pocola. A long career in the auto parts industry followed, finally retiring from Car Color Center in Fort Smith. Robert built a new home in Gans in 1985, where he and his daughter lived for many years. He was an avid car enthusiast, having owned many classic cars over the years and enjoyed reading Louis Lamar western books. His most precious times were spent with his family. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors are one daughter, Sara Teague and Clifton of Sallisaw, OK;  two granddaughters, Brooke Nicole Spriggs and Joseph and Brinley Anne Teague; two great-grandsons, Ryder Lane Spriggs and Rayden Keith Spriggs; one sister, Valeria Allene Allbaugh of Sallisaw, OK; two brothers, Rufus Eugene Kilgore of Sallisaw, OK and Manuel Scott Kilgore of Huntington, AR; and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Edna Mae Beashears; and one brother, Jimmie Wayne Kilgore.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
