A Memorial Service for Roy Monroe Lloyd, 80, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be held at a later date in Washington State, where he lived most of his adult life. Cremation is under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on January 28, 1942 in Tennessee to Hubert and Florence Lloyd and passed away on November 30, 2022 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. He suffered many tragedies throughout his life. He lost his wife at the young age of 22 and was left to raise two small daughters. At the age of 28, he had a logging accident that made him a paraplegic. Though he didn’t let that stop him from doing the things he loved. He enjoyed hunting with his hounds and in his later years, fishing. He overcame many obstacles in his life. In his latter years of life he accepted Christ. We are confident he is in Heaven with Jesus where he is pain-free and has full use of his legs.
Survivors are two daughters, Sharon Bethel of Muldrow, OK and Tammy Martz of Montgomery, AL; one son, Rory Lloyd of Napavine, WA; three grandchildren, Trisha Hawley of Muldrow, OK and Sheena Dewitt of Muldrow, OK and Greg Martz of Alabama; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Florence Lloyd of Middlesboro, KY; three brothers; and one sister.
Memorials may be made in Roy’s honor to Triumph Foundation, an organization that helps those with spinal cord injuries.
